JPG is useful when you need a still image for a document, form, thumbnail, or service that does not accept GIF files.
JPG works best for photographs and detailed color images. GIF is often better for simple graphics and animation, so keep the original when those features matter.
JPG cannot animate. This tool captures the GIF frame displayed by your browser when the preview is generated and exports it as one still JPG.
JPG also cannot store transparency. Transparent GIF pixels are replaced with the background color you select. Source metadata and animation timing are not copied.
